Coming Up...

Playwriting Group

Still online for now, but after our summer break we're resuming meetings on the first and third Mondays of the month, starting September 20, 2021 and running through May 2022. We're interested in new blood to keep things lively, both playwrights and actors, so if you're interested in learning more, check out this post on my blog.

Threshold Theater

Reading full scripts for the next round of choices to be featured in the new play reading series for 2022. Putting the building blocks in place for a fundraising campaign.  Prepping for a November writing challenge event. And after the first two online new play readings, my play "Spellbound," and Shannon TL Kearns' play "Twisted Deaths," we're currently featuring Darcy Parker Bruce's play "The Place That Made You" on our YouTube channel.

Black Lives Matter

If you haven't read We See You, White America Theater yet, or haven't checked it out recently, give it a look. And if you're looking for books to get you started on learning more, two good ones I recommend So You Want To Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo, and How To Be An Antiracist by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi. Check out Minnesota's new (and only?) black-owned bookstore Black Garnet Books for your anti-racist reading list. I'm still a work in progress but I'm learning a lot.
